OFW docu verification at POEA regional offices

RETURNING Overseas Filipino Workers can now process their papers and other transactions with less hassles at the nearest local Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) offices.

This as the POEA launches the Balik Manggagawa (BM) Program, one that makes POEA services more convenient by getting them accessible to the OFW wherever he may be, says Administrator Jennifer Jardin-Manalili.

OFWs who want to file home leaves from abroad or who are planning to return to their countries of employment can now process their papers at the POEA offices in the regions or in the Philippine Labor Offices (PLO) abroad.

With this development, OFWs needs are served and addressed more swiftly and it can also help decongest the main BM processing center in Manila, according to a press statement by POEA.

That means, with the BM, services, which used to be done at the POEA Main Office along Ortigas in Manila are now available at the POEA regional centers, extension units, satellite officer and deputized Overseas Workers Welfare Administration regional offices and units.

Moreover, the same services are also available at PLOs at various Philippine Embassies and consulate offices abroad.

Over this, valid passports, working permits and relevant documents can all be verified and processed at the offices mentioned, says POEA. (PIA)
