P8.00 New Fare rate to start Friday for Public Utility Vehicles

Land Transportation Facilities Regulatory Board (LTFRB) implements a new rate starting on Friday with a minimum of P8.00 for the first four kilometers and P1.50 for every succeeding kilometer. The new rate is for all public utility vehicles except tricycles fare hike’s “across-the-board” nationwide.

Mayor Alvin Uy, on the other hand, as the head of The Bohol Operators of Land Transportation Association (BOLTA) said they will not be implementing a fare increase. Uy claims that an increase is irrelevant to the groups purpose which is to compete with a lower fare, since it is found to be beneficial to commuters.

However, due to the rising cost of fuel, some operators are cutting regular trips during weekdays….
