House ups DEDVMH  bed capacity to 300

By JUNE S. BLANCO     THE Don Emilio del Valle Memorial Hospital (DEDVMH) in Ubay town stands to increase its bed capacity from 50 to 300. This after the House of Representatives approved on final reading the Committee on Health-endorsed bill of Rep. Erico Aristotle Aumentado of Bohol’s 2ndDistrict. The move aims to decongest the hospital that already serves as many as 70 confined patients each day – on top of those attended to in the Out-Patient Department. Aumentado noted that the DEDVMH now also caters to patients from even Bohol’s 3rd and 1st Districts. Parallel to the increase in bed capacity, the hospital is also gearing up for the arrival, installation and operationalization in the next two weeks of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine that is part of the P45-million allocation from the surplus budget of the Department of Health (DoH) that Aumentado bagged during last year’s budget hearing. The machine will be the first to be installed in a national government hospital in the province. A Computed Tomography (CT) scan and five more dialysis machines round up the equipment procured with the P45 million. “There can be no development under a sick constituency,” Aumentado said, hence he is pushing for the upgrading and modernization of the health industry especially in Bohol’s northeastern part. “And the only way to start off and fast track the recovery of patients is to ensure that the hospital has ready and excellent medical services,” he added. Modern equipment, he added, augur well for accurate diagnoses – with no need for referrals to hospitals in Tagbilaran City or even Cebu City....

Auza.Net Supplies Original and Certified Network Cabling Systems

Auza.Net, an IT firm based in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, has started supplying original and certified network cabling systems manufactured by Vivanco.  The company recently signed an exclusive dealership agreement with D-Flex Strategic Solutions, Inc., the exclusive distributor of Vivanco GMBH Structured Cabling Systems in the Philippines.  Auza.Net will be the sole authorized dealer for all Vivanco products in Bohol. Finding original and certified Cat5e cables, patch cords, connectors and data outlets is a major challenge in the province because the local shops are flooded with fake products.  For example, many of the Cat5e cables sold locally would have the correct popular brands but one would be surprised at the extremely low price.  However, when you inspect the material used, it is obvious that the cables are of low quality and are easily damaged.  Copper wires would be very thin and will not pass electrical performance tests. D-Flex and Auza.Net are committed to supplying only original Vivanco products in Bohol and the rest of the country.  Network installers will find that Vivanco products allow for predictable and efficient installations.  End users will find that networks built with Vivanco products are reliable and convenient to use.  D-Flex will also provide certification services if required. Auza.Net will also organize seminars and certification trainings in the first quarter of 2015 to help educate installers, users and building designers and builders on the proper installation of Vivanco structured cabling systems. Initially, Auza.Net will stock Cat5e cables, patch cords and data outlets and later on, data cabinets, patch panels and other accessories.  Vivanco has a complete line of products for structure cabling and data center...

POLICE authorities are now reviving a program to elevate road safety in Bohol. This as PSSupt. Rodolfo Llorca bared some details of the plan to make Bohol road networks free from accidents and conducive to the booming tourism industry. The plan, which includes putting up of proper directional signages also includes rest stations and relieving facilities along major tourism roads. This should to allow drivers to rest instead of pushing on to the next destination and then exposing themselves and the tourists to accidents, Llorca said. The Camp Dagohoy top police officer also cited that the road safety plan would include extensive operations against road worthy vehicles including motorcycles which have been running illegally and have been altered to the detriment of the common good. The recent Regional Peace and Order Council also reported an alarming increase in crimes committed by motorcycle riding men. Records said that about 29 crimes by motorcycle riding men were committed in Bohol during the first quarter of the year. The number rose to 36 in the next three months....

Set up EMS teams, Llorca urges LGUs

FOLLOW the lead provided by Maribojoc, and Tagbilaran City, urge Bohol Police Commander Pssupt. Rodolfo Llorca, during the recent Kapihan sa PIA on disaster awareness. Bohol Maribojoc and Jagna have just institutionalized their municipal emergency medical service (EMS) teams to respond to disaster and accident victim recovery. On the other hand, Tagbilaran has its Tagbilaran City Emergency Medical and Rescue Operations Team, which does the same function as the EMS. Llorca raised the issue upon seeing that most towns here have not put up properly trained EMS responders that many motor vehicle accident survivors have died instead for improper handling by untrained rescue personnel. He also added that the EMS team, which Maribojoc has, is given appropriate training and equipment support. We may be able to save lives and avert more disaster casualties if we prepare, Llorca stressed....
