Malacanang has made an assurance that President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will act on the pre-need industry controversy. While the president is still abroad, an assistance desk is set up at the Securities and Exchange Commission to assist victims of pre-need companies. Arroyo will study the agency’s performance in monitoring and regulating pre-need firms in the country, upon her arrival. (PIA/Bohol)
