The Food and Drugs Administration Act of 2009 is a consolidated version of House Bill No. 3293 and Senate Bill 2645 which also amends certain sections of Republic Act 3720.
Under the law, FDA will retain its income, in addition to its annual budget. The new law seeks the establishment of modern and complete testing laboratory facilities in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao in addition to the existing laboratory at its central office. It aims to strengthen the regulatory powers and output the resources of the said agency, says Malacañang.
