Disruptions in international and broadband connections services, such as Smart Bro and Smart Bro Plug-It, were caused by a pan-Asia cable cut early Wednesday around 10 a.m. This is according to Smart Communications, a Telecom services provider.
Smart further stressed, the disruption also affected its international voice and SMS services.
The affected undersea cable is the Asia-Pacific Cable Network 2 (APCN2), which runs between China and Taiwan but also connects to the Philippines, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia.
It is not yet known what caused the cable cut. (Alexander Villafania / INQUIRER)
