WORLDS CONSUMER RIGHTS DAY 2014
On March 15, 2014, the whole world will celebrate the World
Consumer Rights Day to recognise the rights of consumers around
the globe.
This year’s celebration carries the global theme ‘Consumer rights
in the digital age’ and the purpose is to raise the awareness of
consumers with regard to digital issues.
Consumers International, a federation which acts as an independent
voice for all consumers of the world, organized the one day
celebration. The organisation was founded in 1960 and has 53 years
of experience of keeping consumers know their rights as they stand
up for their rights in the modern marketplace!
The World Consumer Rights Day was first observed in 1983.
Consumers at that time were demanding that consumer rights be
respected and protected. It likewise hopes to achieve solidarity
from among consumers within the international consumer rights
movement.
