TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, Oct. 18 (PIA)–Nanawagan si Presidente Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aquino III sa mga Bol-anon nga ipahibalo dayon sa ilang mga mayor kun may mabantayan silang daot sama sa mga liki sa istraktura sa ilang mga lugar human ang kusog nga linog nga nitay-og sa lalawigan niadtong Martes, Oktubre 15.

Ang pinakabag-ong Building Code niadto pang 2010 nga gipatuman karon, nagtakda og mga angay nga ipatukod nga bag-ong istraktura nga dili maguba kun adunay linog nga 7.2 ang gikusgon, pahinomdom pa sa Presidente.
Gidugang pa sa Presidente nga ang problema mao ang mga karaang istraktura.

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, Oct. 17 (PIA) – Bohol local officials recommended to the COMELEC to suspend the barangay elections here after a 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit the province in the morning of October 15.
Bohol governor Edgar Chatto said the Sangguniang Panlalawigan passed a resolution asking the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) for the postponement of the barangay elections in Bohol and to grant special elections after the province has settled down from the tragedy.
Bohol has already been declared under a state of calamity.
Under Section 5 of the Omnibus Election Code, postponement or suspension of elections are granted in cases where there are conflicts, war, terrorism, and destructions of election records and paraphernalia and in “force majeure” or calamity.
Latest information says, COMELEC commissioners will tackle the resolution/request en banc today whether or not to grant the postponement of the barangay elections on October 28 in Bohol, especially in areas that are badly damaged by the earthquake. (PIA7-Bohol/ECBongos

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, Oct. 17 (PIA) — Pres. Benigno S. Aquino III led the distribution of relief goods here Wednesday for earthquake victims who have sought shelter at Tagbilaran Sports Complex following the deadly earthquake that rocked Bohol on Oct. 15.
The sports complex was packed with around 500 families as Pres. Aquino personally handed over relief packs to the evacuees.
The families fled their homes after a destructive 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit Bohol on Tuesday.
According to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), more than 5,000 families were affected by the deadly quake, which left more than 100 dead in Bohol.
Bohol island was the hardest hit in central Philippines as the quake’s epicenter was located 2 kilometers southeast of Carmen town here.
Prior to visiting the evacuees, Pres. Aquino made an aerial tour of the quake-hit areas in the province.
DSWD Sec. Dinky Soliman assured that the social welfare department has already dispatched food and tents for the displaced families, adding that they will also bring in the unused tents that were brought to Zamboanga.
A C-130 cargo plane of the Philippine Air Force flew in a total of 2,000 food packs from DSWD in coordination with the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) in Bohol.
Aside from the food packs, 38 tents were likewise brought in for the quake-hit families.
Sec. Soliman added that the Department of Health will also send not only medicines but also medical tools needed to treat the injured victims who are admitted in hospitals in the province.
Pres. Aquino assured that his administration is ready to assist and respond to the needs of calamity-hit local government units.
From the sports complex, the President also checked on the damage caused by the earthquake on Tagbilaran Port.
Port officials estimate that around P500 million is needed to fund the repairs on the damaged port.
The port have resumed operations but big cargo ships are not yet allowed to use the port as of this writing. (PIA-7/Bohol/ECBongosia)

Gipasabot sa gobernador nga gawas sa mga lungsod sa Loboc, Loon ug Maribojoc, grabe usab ang kadaut sa 7.2 magnitude nga linog sa Antequera, Calape, Tubigon, Sagbayan, San Isidro, Clarin, Inabanga ug uban pa.
Ang maong mga lugar ang nakatala og daghang mga casualties.
Gawas sa relief operations, gipahigayon usab ang retrieval operations sa Loon ug sa Maribojoc tungod sa taho nga aduna pay mga nalubong nga buhi nga kinahanglang kubkobon.

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, Oct. 17 (PIA)–Mikabat na sa 1,337 aftershocks ang natala ganinang buntag sa lalawigan sa Bohol human nitay-og ang magnitude 7.2 nga linog dinhi niadtong Martes, Oktubre 15.
Matud pa ni Karen Garcia, Data Management sa Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), natala ang pinakakusog nga pagtay-og sa magnitude 5.5 nga linog ganinang alas 7:37 sa buntag.
Dugang pa ni Garcia, human sa maong pagtay-og, natala usab ang magnitude 4.5 nga linog sa Tagbilaran City ganinang alas 1:46 sa hapon.
Gibutyag usab sa opisyal sa PHIVOLCS nga upat pa ka nagsunod nga kusog nga aftershocks sa syudad sa Tagbilaran ang natala sukad kagahapon sa buntag.
Giingong makasinati pa og mga aftershocks ang mga Bol-anon sulod sa usa ka buwan apan magkahinay na kini.
Samtang gitin-aw usab sa PHIVOLCS nga walay bulkan sa isla sa Bohol sukwahi sa nikatap nga mga balita nga adunay aktibo nga bulkan sa Bohol nga maoy hinungdan sa kusog nga pagtay-og sa linog niadtong Martes.
