TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, Oct. 19 (PIA)–President Benigno Aquino III in his recent visit to Bohol urged Boholanos to report immediately to authorities if they see and notice cracks on structures in their areas after the October 15 earthquake that shook not only the entire province but Central Visayas as well.
“Ipaalam agad ninyo sa inyong LGU at patingnan kung may duda kayo o kung may mapansin kayong cracks. Ituro ninyo sa ating mga imbestigador,” Aquino said during his speech and meeting with the local government and other agencies recently.
Aquino pointed out that it is necessary to report to the experts any cracks or any discrepancies on buildings and structures so the concerned government agency can attend to these problems.
The President instructed the Department of Public Work and Highways (DPWH) to coordinate with the Provincial Engineering Office to ensure that all structures and are checked and monitored because strong aftershocks are still felt in areas that the quake hit.
The latest Building Code is series 2010 that details the rules and guidelines in putting up buildings and other structures that will withstand a 7.2 magnitude earthquake, Aquino said.

Matud pa ni Roxas, tulo na lamang ka lungsod karon ang wala pa gihapo’y suplay sa kuryente nga naglangkob sa Maribojoc, Loon ug Sagbayan.
Dugang pa sa kalihim, ang police station ug munisipyo lamang sa lungsod sa Loon ang adunay suplay sa koryente karon.
Giingong gihimuan na kini og paagi sa Department of Energy (DoE) ug lokal nga electic cooperative dinhi nga mabalik na sa normal ang suplay sa koryente sa tibuok lalawigan.

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, Oct. 18 (PIA) – Bohol governor Edgar Chatto issued a flash appeal to all that water, ready-to-eat meals, transportation are the immediate needs of Boholanos, especially in areas that sustained massive damages from the 7.2 earthquake.
“The source and supply of water in the province had already been affected,” the governor said.
This is in addition to the urgent call of people from the towns of Maribojoc, Loon and Loboc that needed water, food and other assistance, Chatto added.
The governor assured Boholanos that the local government is on top of the situation and that rescue teams are working continuously to open up routes, links to reach those towns and areas that are left isolated because of the earthquake.
Chato also said that aside from Loboc, Loon and Maribojoc other towns such as Antequera, Calape, Tubigon, Sagbayan, San Isidro, Clarin, Inabanga and others had been badly damaged by the quake.
These are the areas that need registered most casualties, the governor said.
Aside from relief operations, Chatto added, rescue and retrieval operations continue in Loon and Maribojoc because there are reports of people that are under the rubbles that are still alive and needed to be rescued.
Bohol local officials profusely thanked the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) for its immediate response to assist in the province’s search, rescue and retrieval (SAR) operations. MMDA also brought K9 dogs for fast and easy SAR operations.
Presently, the Bohol Cultural Center in Tagbilaran City is being used as the receiving area for the collection of relief goods and other concerns.
According to Police officer 3 Carl John Legazpi, operations clerk of Bohol Provincial Office, as of October 17 deaths due to earthquake reached 145 while those injured registered at 374 and 22 missing. (PIA7-Bohol/ECBongosia)

Gipangunahan ni Bohol Gob. Edgar Chatto, nitambong usab sa maong programa sila Sec. Dinky Soliman sa Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ug Executive Secretary Edwin Lacierda, kinsa midasig sa mga Bol-anon nga magpakapalig-on taliwala sa dakung kalamidad.
Nanawagan si Gob. Chatto nga hugtan pa sa mga lider ug katawhan sa tibuok lalawigan ang paghiusa ug pagtinabangany ilabi na sa mga nabiktima sa linog.
Masaligon ang gobernador nga mobalik pagbarug ang Bohol gikan sa pagkahugno bisan pa sa mga daghang pagsuway
Gipasalamatan ni Gob. Chatto ang administrasyong Aquino sa padayong pagtubag sa panawagan sa labing dinaliang ayuda ug tabang nga molanat pa og igong panahon sama sa pagpabarug sa mga nangahagsa nga imprastraktura.
