Base sa taho sa Associated Press, gihimo sa Santo Papa ang giingong komento sa usa ka German book nga gipanguluhan og “Light of the World: The Pope, the Church and the Signs of the Times” nga gikatakdang ipagawas ning buwana.
Sa maong taho, giingong namahayag si Pope Benedict XVI nga dili moral solution ang paggamit sa condom aron mapugngan ang pagkatap sa makatakod nga sakit nga AIDS apan adunay mga higayon nga mapahimuslan kini sama na lang sa mga prostitute.

For 57 seconds, church bells will ring out throughout the country on Tuesday in memory of the 57 people killed in the grisly Maguindanao massacre last year.
The Catholic Church-run Radio Veritas on Sunday announced that it was spearheading the simultaneous pealing of Church bells on Nov. 23, the first year of the gruesome murders, as tribute to the victims and their kin, who continued to seek justice.
Fr. Anton Pascual, president and chief operating officer of Radio Veritas on Sunday said that “the Church is joining the struggle in asking the government to finish the trial promptly because justice delayed is justice denied”.
Meanwhile, Malacañang said that it was doing all it could to ensure the speedy trial of the suspects in the worst political killing in the country.
Palace deputy spokesperson Abigail Valte said that Malacañang hoped that the Supreme Court would heed calls for a live TV coverage of the so-called “trial of the century.” (PIA)

President Benigno S. Aquino Jr. expressed his dissatisfaction with the proposed tourism slogan Pilipinas kay Ganda saying the ”stakeholders themselves were not happy about it.”
In a press conference during the call on him by international boxing icon, Manny Pacquiao at the Premier Guest House, the President said “he met with the stakeholders recently and they showed their discontent over the new slogan.”
“Maybe we do not have to fine tune the slogan but look for something more appropriate. There was an old slogan, though still acceptable to many, but I tasked Tourism Secretary Bert Lim to fix it and find a new one based on the blue print of the tourism program and I will review all the details,” the President told reporters.
On Friday night, the President said he recently met with Secretary Lim to discuss the details of the master plan. “Some of it I can’t really reveal because we are still embarking on a non traditional approach in trying to really promote tourism in the country.”
Among them is the recognition of the assets that we have, such as the seafarers, who the
President said are the single biggest nationality flying the world’s oceans.
The President said the DoT submitted a master plan that contains a lot of changes. “I will first look at every detail that they placed in that master plan,” he added.
He said there should have been more research and focused group discussions in working out
the logo and the slogan before the launch. (PCOO)

Business sentiment has hit a new high, the central bank yesterday reported, with the outlook
for the fourth quarter at its highest since 2001.
The overall confidence index (CI) was at 50.6% for the period, the Bangko Sentral ng
Pilipinas (BSP) said in a statement, up from the 45% recorded for the third quarter and the
22% posted a year earlier.
It said sentiment had been boosted by 3 factors:
• expectations of sustained economic improvements on the back of strong demand
that is being fueled by migrant workers’ remittances and capital inflows;
• the seasonal factor of stronger business sentiment during the Christmas and
harvest seasons; and
• continued confidence in the new government.
“The positive business sentiment likewise mirrored the improving business confidence in
countries such as Canada, Hong Kong, India, Germany, Italy and New Zealand,” the BSP
said.
The outlook for the following quarter, however, dipped. The next quarter CI — for the first
quarter of 2011 — was at 51% from the 59.2% recorded three months earlier.
The BSP survey was conducted from Oct. 1 to Nov. 9. A total of 1,624 firms nationwide were
polled, of which 75.4% responded. (PIA)
