DTI Bohol Holds Maker Fest; Launches BHLi2i

The Department of Trade and Industry holds a six-day long Maker exhibit at the Island City Mall at the 2nd floor as part of its Sandugo Trade Expo event. The exhibit which runs from July 22 to 27 showcases the projects of various makers of Bohol. An array of projects will be seen from crafts, urban farming, industrial developments, environmental projects, electronics, custom purpose parts, digital fabrication equipments and many more.

Various sessions of the “Spark Talks” included the following topics:
July 23 – Climate Change by Dr. Noelyn Dano, an Environment Policy Consultant, Green Building Design by Arch. Niño Guidaben of UAP Bohol, Reponsible Consumption by Nanda Ritsma of GIZ and Opportunities in Waste UpCycling by Tommy Filipini from the USPC.

July 24 – Inventing to Change the World by Cesar Harada, CEO of Makerbay Hongkong, The Internet of Things + Drones by Matthew Cua, CEO of Awesome Lab and Wiki House by Shiro Takaki / Yuta Takahashi of JOCV

July 25 – Entrepreneurship for Startups by Cristina Ibañez of Miriam College, Marketing in a Digital World by Gavin Hinton, Marketing Consultant, From Ideas to Practical Application of Technology by Mark Ruiz CEO, Hapinoy and Opportunities for Innovation and Tech StartUps by Earl Valencia, CEO of Ideaspace.

There were also workshops on Arduino and Web Design.

A competition called Bohol Ideas to Innovation or BHLi2i was also launched on July 22, 2015 during the opening program of the Sandugo Trade Expo. Bohol Governor Edgar Chatto and Mayor Baba Yap expressed their support for the Sandugo Trade Expo during their speeches during the program. Australian Ambassador to the Philippines William Bill Tweddell was also present at the opening event.

DTI Bohol brings Bohol’s first  green business matching event

The Department of trade and Industry in Bohol (DTI-Bohol) spearheads the conduct of a Green Business Matching event on July 23, 2015 at the Island City Mall Activity Center from 1 to 5 in the afternoon.

The activity aims to familiarize businesses and consumers in Bohol on energy efficient and renewable energy technologies, including where to tap available attractive financial schemes to avail of these technologies to promote the introduction of more energy efficient measures.

The activity is part of DTIs weeklong events to launch the Bohol Ideas to Innovation (BHL i2i) Challenge.

The first part of the event will introduce different suppliers presenting their green products and services to the participants by way of product presentation or sales pitch.

These sales pitches will be followed by a market setup at the trade fair grounds, with a table and chairs where the green service and technology providers can provide further product details and negotiate.

Participating green business service providers provides include Sonjay Microsystems, Smiley Solar/Hamilton Phils., Inc., Easylink Merchandising, Philips Phils., Solaric and East Corporation.

The Development Bank of the Philippines – Bohol Branch will also present their window for Green Financing. (PIA)

Mga kaso sa police torture, gitugyan sa Malakanyang sa CHR

MANILA, July 20 (PIA)–Gitugyan na sa Malakanyang sa Commission on Human Rights ang pagtutok sa mga kaso sa pag-torture sa mga polis ug aron maduso ang anti-torture policy sa mga tigpatuman sa balaod.

Matud pa ni Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Kalihim Sonny Coloma Jr., walay lugar sa gobyerno ang torture tungod kay paglapas kini sa balaod ug ilabi nang paglapas kini batok sa tumong nga demokrasya.

Kalabot niini, hugot nga gipahinumdoman ni Coloma ang Philippine National Police (PNP) nga kinahanglang ipatuman ang balaod ug sila ang angay nga unang mosunod sa balaod.

Monitoring sa mga tighimo og local food products, gitugyan na sa mga LGUs – DOH

MANILA, July 20 (PIA)–Gitugyan na sa Department of Health sa mga opisyal sa lokal nga kagamhanan ang pag-monitor sa mga tighimo og pagkaon ug uban pang mga produktong gibaligya sa publiko.

Matud pa ni DOH Kalihim Janette Garin, walay igong katakos ang DOH aron i-monitor kini ilabi na nga daghan ang tighimo niini sa nagkalain-laing suok sa nasud.

Alang sa kalihim, adunay igong gahom ang mga LGUs tungod kay sila man ang mag-issue og permiso sa mga matag lugar nga ilang gisakopan sa mga permits ug adunay mga sanitation department usab aron motan-aw sa nagkalain-laing mga establisyemento.

Matud pa sa kalihim nga daghang katawhan ang nagsalig usab sa ingon aning klaseng mga negosyo.

TESDA-Bohol, mopahigayon og tinuig nga libreng competency assessment

BOHOL, July 20 (PIA)–Ang Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Bohol mopahigayon sa ilang tinuig nga libreng Competency Assessment ubos sa National TVET Competency Assessment and Certification Programs (NATCAC).

Karong tuig nga libreng competency assessment ipahigayon sa 3 ka schedules sa bulan sa Mayo, Agusto ug Nobyembre. Ang ikaduhang implementasyon ipahigayon sa Agusto 1 taman 31, 2015.

Kining programa parte sa paningkamot sa TESDA sa pagpakusog sa ang-ang ug pagdayeg sa competency assessment ug certification sa tibuok nasud.

Nagtinguha kini sa pagmugna ug pagsabot sa mga Pilipino sa bili ug kamahinungdanon sa TESDA Certification ug Assessment Services.

TESDA-Bohol holds yearly free competency assessment

BOHOL, July 16 (PIA)–The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Bohol will hold its yearly conduct of free Competency Assessment under the National TVET Competency Assessment and Certification Programs (NATCAC).

This year’s free competency assessment will be conducted in three schedules on the months of May, August and November 2015. The second round of implementation will be on August 1-31, 2015.

The program is part of TESDA’s effort to strengthen the scale and appreciation of competency assessment and certification nationwide under the leadership of TESDA Director General Secretary Joel Villanueva.

It aims to create and understanding of the Filipinos the value and importance of TESDA Certification and Assessment Services.

Here in Bohol, thru the leadership of Provincial Director Dr. Francisca R. Opog, TESDA will offer free assessment to Boholanos with the following qualifications: Automotive Transport Service NC II, Animal Production NC II, Beauty Care NC II, Bread and Pastry Production NC II, Carpentry NC II, Cookery NC II, Driving NC II and Dressmaking NC II.

Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II, Food Processing NC II, Housekeeping NC II, Horticulture NC II, Plumbing NC II, Shielded Metal Arc Wedding NC II, Motorcycle/Small Engine Servicing Mechanic NC II, Tailoring NC II, Tile Setting NC II and Reinforced Steel Bars Installation NC II.

Qualified applicants are trainers of private and public technical vocational institutions, local government units and other government agencies providing TVET programs, DepEd Trainers, Industry Workers/Practitioners/Professional/Career Shifters who want to undergo competency assessment, Returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs)/ Filipino Expatriates with relevant experience needing assessment for possible employment and promotion.
