TAGBILARAN CITY, August 2, (PIA)–Bohol information officers continue to get skills enhancements, this time in radio programming, as a basic skill for government communicators.
At the regular Association of United Development Information Officers (AUDIO-Bohol) meeting held in Jagna, Bohol, over 20 information officers took PIA Bohol’s module on radio programming, a topic under the wide Radio Broadcasting Skills enhancement for media workers.
Over 25 local government information officers and national government agency spokespersons gathered at Jagna Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Provincial Training Center (PTC) Language Skills Institute Training Center for the training which was also followed by a live broadcast.
Jagna, which owns a community radio station DyPJ, opened its station doors to the AUDIO for an hour long of Kapihan sa PIA, Thursday, July 30, a broadcast which was heard all over town and its surrounding municipalities.
Kapihan sa PIA also took on the tasks of TESDA Jagna PTC, especially its specializes skills training program and its community demanded trainings.
Operating the second language training institute in preparation for call center operations in Bohol, Jagna PTC has long stopped its language operations because its graduates could not find the seats in Bohol yet, and most are in Cebu operations, which is not that promising yet, according to TESDA sources.
TESDA, says Center Administrator Cadeliña, opens its doors for government scholars under the Training for Work Scholarship program (TWSP) and offers the modular competency based trainings for employable students who will be spending nothing but deligence, explains TESDA information officer Jaminel Damolo, during the Kapihan sa PIA.
AUDIO Bohol, in its institutionalized meetings earlier decided to maximize on its information dissemination tasks by experiencing the government presence, that it put up regular Bisita Opisina in its monthly gatherings to allow members to cross visit and personally see for themselves town’s best practices and agency mandates.
Elvira Bongosia, PIA Bohol’s AUDIO secretariat said Bisita Opisina has become an effective venue for agency and local government heads to see for themselves what the AUDIO has been doing in contribution to the general goal of making communities feel their government.
Also at the Bisita Opisina, with TESDA PTC Jagna sponsoring the whole day event, AUDIO Bohol toured the Jagna PTC manpower training facility which has an automotive servicing shop, electrical installation and maintenance, bread and pastry shop as well as the language training institute.
No less than TESDA Jagna Administrator Apolinar Cadeliña took the members to an office tour while TESDA information Officer Damolo briefed everyone of the TESDA Programs. He also answered questions from members during the tour. (rac/PIA-7/Bohol)

TAGBILARAN CITY, July 28 (PIA)–The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will host this month’s ‘Bisita Opisina’ and general assembly meeting of the Association of United Development Information Officers in Bohol (AUDIO-Bohol) on Thursday, July 30 at TESDA-Jagna Training Center in Jagna, Bohol.
AUDIO-Bohol is an aggrupation of information officers of the municipalities and national government agencies based in the province.
The ‘Bisita Opisina’ is one of the activities of AUDIO-Bohol where the members visit government agencies and municipalities to conduct discussions and learn about government programs for the group to assist them with their communication needs.
At 9 a.m., AUDIO-Bohol President, Augustus ‘Totsie’ Escobia will give his words of welcome and statement of purpose at TESDA-Jagna Training Center.
After this, the information officers will undergo a Training on Basic Broadcasting Program Structure to be conducted by PIA-Bohol Manager, Rey Anthony Chiu.
At 10 to 11 a.m., the information officers will get a chance to apply what they learn from the training as the group will transfer to the nearby radio station, dyPJ for a taping of Kapihan sa PIA with TESDA to be hosted by PIA-Bohol Manager and dyPJ Station Manager, Mr. Catalino Berro.
TESDA-Bohol officials lead by their Provincial Manager, Dr. Francisca Opog will discuss during the Kapihan, TESDA’s programs and services.
After the Kapihan, the group will return back at TESDA-Jagna Training Center for the continuing discussion on the ongoing programs and services of TESDA.
TESDA-Bohol is set to have their 2nd round of implementation of their yearly conduct of free competency assessment under the National TVET Competency Assessment and Certification Programs (NATCAC) scheduled on August 1-31, 2015.
This year’s free competency assessment will be conducted in three schedules on the months of May, August and November 2015.
In the afternoon, AUDIO-Bohol members will have an office tour and orientation of the Citizen’s Charter of the host office to be given by TESDA Info Officer, Mr. Jaminel Damolo.

MANILA, July 27 (PIA)–Ubos sa SSS Circular No. 2015-009 nga gipagawas ning bag-o lang, gidugangan sa maong buhatan ang funeral benefits gikan sa fixed amount nga P20,000 ngadto na sa variable amount sugod P20,000 ngadto na sa maximum nga kantidad sa P40,000, depende sa number of contributions ug average monthly salary credit (AMSC) sa miyembro.
Matud pa ni SSS Vice President for Benefits Administration Agnes San Jose, ang pagsaka mo-apply alang sa tanang funeral benefit claims nga adunay contingency nga petsa sugod Agosto 1, 2015.
Giingong ang bag-ong funeral benefits kalkulahon gamit ang fixed amount nga P20,000 ug ipuno ang porsentahe sa total contributions ug AMSC sa miyembro.
“The proposal to increase funeral benefits came about after our study revealed that the costs of burial services have climbed to an average of more than P40,000 or twice the current fixed amount of benefit SSS disburses for funeral claims,” matud pa ni San Jose.
