The International Summit on Technology, Startups and Design, also known as Geeks On A Beach is the leading international technology and business conference that highlights tech industry startups in the Philippines and the world.
It gathers together tech driven enterprises, innovators, investors and global speakers in a fun milieu to inspire game changing solutions to the world’s small and big challenges.
GOAB is organized by TechTalks.ph and DOST-ICTO (the Philippine government’s Department of Science and Technology – Information Communications Technology Office). TechTalks.ph is a non-profit, independent community of business, technology, and startup enthusiasts known for organizing tech startup events such as tech/startup meetups, Startup Weekend and GOAB. GOAB was first held in 2013 in Boracay island with 330 participants from 27 countries around the world. In 2014, GOAB was held at Moevenpick Resort Hotel in Mactan Island, Cebu. Over 440 attendees listened to local and global leaders including Dave McClure of 500Startups, Maria Ressa, CEO of Rappler.com, and top executives from Smart Communications, Globe, IdeaSpace.ph, Kickstart.ph and others.
There will be talks and panel discussions from local and international speakers about the latest trends and topics in investments, tech, startup and design industries.
The GOAB International Startup Pitching Competition is open to all early stage tech startups that have revenue and traction. Startups will have a chance to pitch their products to potential investors on the GOAB stage.
There is also an exclusive roundtable discussion by investors for investors.
There will also be breakout sessions were participants can get up to date with the latest technologies and trends in the industry.
With music and drinks, The participants will put their party hats on and celebrate the beautiful Boracay Island. Geek conversations most of the time leads to new ideas and new action plans. Who knows where these meaningful connections will lead to.

Walay gitumbok nga partikular nga pamilyang politiko si PNoy sa iyang paghatag sa maong mensahe.

MANILA, July 27 (PIA)–Ubos sa SSS Circular No. 2015-009 nga gipagawas ning bag-o lang, gidugangan sa maong buhatan ang funeral benefits gikan sa fixed amount nga P20,000 ngadto na sa variable amount sugod P20,000 ngadto na sa maximum nga kantidad sa P40,000, depende sa number of contributions ug average monthly salary credit (AMSC) sa miyembro.
Matud pa ni SSS Vice President for Benefits Administration Agnes San Jose, ang pagsaka mo-apply alang sa tanang funeral benefit claims nga adunay contingency nga petsa sugod Agosto 1, 2015.
Giingong ang bag-ong funeral benefits kalkulahon gamit ang fixed amount nga P20,000 ug ipuno ang porsentahe sa total contributions ug AMSC sa miyembro.
“The proposal to increase funeral benefits came about after our study revealed that the costs of burial services have climbed to an average of more than P40,000 or twice the current fixed amount of benefit SSS disburses for funeral claims,” matud pa ni San Jose.
Ang SSS funeral benefit usa ka cash grant nga ihatag aron i-ilis sa mga nagasto sa pagpa-lubong sa namatay nga miymebro sa SSS.

Edukasyon.ph founder Henry Motte-Muñoz has been named by Asia Society as part of the Class of 2015 Asia 21 Young Leaders, the preeminent network of young leaders from across the Asia Pacific, representing the private, public, and non-profit sectors. He is the only Filipino who made it to this year’s batch of leaders.
Henry Motte-Muñoz is the founder of Edukasyon.ph, a comprehensive online database of higher education courses and scholarships, which will launch in the Philippines this year. He is also the co-founder of Bantay.PH, a youth-driven good governance initiative in the Philippines.
“It’s an honor to join the Asia 21 Leaders Programme. I look forward to further developing their causes with the advice and experience of this distinguished alumni community. This opportunity will definitely strengthen our advocacy efforts at Edukasyon.ph and boost our efforts in helping high school students find better schools and careers,” said Henry.
He was born in Paris to a Filipina mother and a French father, and was raised between Paris, London, and Zurich, and the Philippines. Henry holds a BSc in Economics and Economic History from the London School of Economics and an MBA (with distinction) from the Harvard Business School. He is currently working for Bain Capital, a private equity fund in London, the United Kingdom. He previously worked for Goldman Sach’s Investment Banking Division, also in London.
Henry will attend the special 10th anniversary Asia 21 Summit in Hong Kong, December 1-4. The summit will celebrate the achievements of the first decade, explore innovative ways to leverage the Asia 21 network for greater impact, and form special Asia 21 Task Forces to address critical issues facing the region.
“I hope this opportunity can also inspire our young leaders and students to search for similar opportunities that can support their organizations and expand their network globally. Education plays a huge role in making these opportunities possible,” Henry added.
Asia 21 Young Leaders are selected through a highly competitive process based on outstanding achievements, commitment to public service, and a proven ability to make the world a better place. The 32 young leaders who make up the Asia 21 Class of 2015 represent 22 countries and are divided almost evenly between men and women. Fifty percent work in the private sector, 44 percent in the nonprofit sector, and 6 percent in the public sector.
