Aris: Investors keen on P3-B waterworks in D2

Erico Aristotle Aumentado said this is not far off as talks with two big time investors showed them to be bullish with the idea. Aumentado said the off hand, the investors said they are keen on putting in from P2.5 billion to P3 billion for a gigantic potable water system. He added that a big chunk of the investment would go to the pipelines that would understandably be kilometers long. He said the project is the final block in preparing his district for major investors and light industries to come in. Without water, the solon said, the 2nd District cannot fly or soar. “Water is a basic infrastructure that should be in place before one can invite investors to locate their businesses here,” he said. To note, he has coordinated with national and local government agencies and the private sector to improve the road network, expand major ports and provide power to islands and far-flung hinterland barangays in his district. DTI-EMB, Philexport, EDC line up activities for National Exporters’ Week 2017
The Department of Trade and Industry-Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB), in collaboration with the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. (Philexport) and Export Development Council (EDC), has lined up activities in celebration of the National Exporters’ Week (NEW) on 01-07 December 2017 with the theme “Innovate. Collaborate. Export!” The NEW is an annual event as stipulated under Presidential Proclamation 931, series of 1996 and House Resolution 33, declaring the first week of December as Exporters’ Week. It targets to obtain the full commitment of the government and the private sector to continuously work together to sustain and maintain export promotion and development. The celebration starts with the opening of the NEW Bazaar at the DTI International Building, along Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue, Makati City. It will run from 04 to 15 December, except on weekends. On the same day, the Philexport will hold its Regional Consultation at the Manila Pavilion Hotel and Casino in Ermita, Manila. After more than a year of investigation, members of the elite Provincial Intelligence Branch of the Provincial Public Safety Company of the Bohol PNP and Criminal Intelligence and Detention Group, blew the cover of 34-year old PDEA agent Steven Valles y Lumiton of 859 Kalubihan, Sangi, Toledo City. A combined team of PPSC, PIB and CIDG officers numbering 15 and led by Chief Inspector Jovito Atanacio caught the number 3 target drug supplier in a buy-bust operation near the PDEA office at K of C Drive last Friday, Aug.6. According to police, the PDEA investigator who lived a double life supplied illegal drugs to the towns of Jagna, Ubay, Carmen and Tagbilaran up until he was caught red handed. The same police sources said that the agent was able to supply drugs in Bohol since his PDEA officer jurisdiction included the whole Region VII. The double life agent had his stints in Bohol during Fridays and Saturdays after law school in Bohol Institute of Technology- International College. The arrest resulted in the seizure of the agent’s possessions which inlcuded: at least three large transparent plastic bags in medium and small sizes. These were believed to be shabu amounting to P85,000. Also found in his possession was a cal. 45 pistol, 30 rounds of live ammunitions, four units of cellphones, his PDEA badge, padlocks, several identification cards and cash amounting to P116,250.
