Bohol Bike for peace, Visayas first during PNP Taliños term

TAGBILARAN CITY, May 9, (PIA)–It may have happened before, but the recent Bike for Peace activities organized by the Philippine National Police Regional Office 7 in Bohol is the first among the upcoming events, announced Police regional Chief PCSuperintendent Noli Taliño in Panglao. General Taliño, who did not fail to mention the beautiful and scenic 18 kilometer route from Camp Dagohoy to Panglao passing through the Dauis causeway, said the Police Regional Office thought of the ride as the police little help to assure tourists that it is safe to live, roam around and do business in Bohol. Taliño led the PRO Officials including deputy regional director for administration PCSupt Franklin Moises Mabanag, PSupt Clarito Baja, Bohol Police Chief PSSupt Felipe Natividad, and his officials in the 20 kilometer ride that pedaled off from Camp Dagohoy, to Panglao Plaza, then to Alona before going back to the Plaza for a short program. From here, we might do the same to other nearby provinces, he added. The group arrived to a zumba dance session with Panglao local officials leading the early morning stretch. Loboc Choir wins Aliw award 2009

The Loboc Children’s Choir (LCC) has once again bagged an award in the recently held 21st Aliw Awards at the Manila Hotel November 11. They won the award “Best Performance In A Concert By a Group”, their second award. Their first in 2004, where they bagged the “Best Choral Group Award”. This year, the award is in recognition of the group’s outstanding performance during the Encuentro Filipino series of concerts, which opened at the PETA Theater Center. CVSCAFT students complain to P30 late enrollment fee

In a radio program at DYRD, parents of/and students of Central Visayas State College of Agriculture Forestry and Technology- Tagbilaran City Campus (CVSCAFT-TCC), called to complain in regards to its’ policy of P30/day for late enrollment. They pointed out that this fine should just be disregarded and that they should just understand especially in this time of crisis. Classes should have formally started last week, Nov. 3, but due to many reasons enrollment is still not finished. The reasons are the there are students who haven’t had their clearance signed, and students asking for grades thus mixing up with the enrollees. One coastal policy in marine triangle pushed

Provincial lawmakers are now setting in motion a common ordinance that is to be impleented by th three municipalities of the Bohol Marine Triangle, namely Dauis, Panglao and Baclayon. In a meeting of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) committees which tackled on environment and tourism, the memorandum of agreement (MOA) entered by the mayors aforementioned was discussed. Acting on a letter from the Alona Beach Community Association Inc. (ABCAI) which scored the delay in the joint drafting of a common Marine Environmental User Fee Ordinance to be adopted by the three towns, the two SP committees headed by Board Members Alfonso Damalerio II and Corazon Galbreath urged the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of said towns to lead in the preparation of the proposed measure as stipulated in the MOA. Among other responsibilities, the three LGUs will adhere to a policy having a single management system in the BMT area. Bohol featured in Jiangxi Magazine

Bohol was featured in the July-August 2008 issue of Jiangxi Pictorial, a popular magazine published by Bohol’s sister province int the People’s Republic of China. The magazine featured the Chocolate Hills, and the festive parade and street dancing during the Bohol-Jiangxi Friendship Day celebration last May 8. Ambassador Carlos Chan, gave Gov. Erico Aumentado a copy of the magazine in his recent visit here in Bohol. Aumentado had sought the help of Jiangxi’s 43 million people to help vote for the Chocolate Hills into the worldwide search for the New Seven Wonders of Nature through Internet voting.
