Int’l. Fusion Nights makes a comeback
as part of Earthquake Memorial activities
TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, Oct. 16 (PIA)–The highly successful International Fusion Nights makes a repeat performance from October 15-18, 2014 at Plaza Rizal in Tagbilaran City, as part of the lineup of activities for Oktubre Kinse: The Bohol Earthquake Memorial.
The 4-day food bazaar features 10 stalls offering reasonably priced, sumptuous dishes and food treats from local food businesses.
The food exhibitors include Bialetti Café, Gavroche French Bakery, Tarsier Botanika, Villa Formosa, Just Sizzlin’, Not Just Tacos, Cuisina ni Tisay, Shiang Ma Nou, Egay’s Farm and Amorita Resort.
Daily business operations of the food bazaar are scheduled from 5 p.m. until 12 midnight.
Organized by the Provincial Government of Bohol and the City Government of Tagbilaran, Fusion Nights is spearheaded by the Bohol Investment Promotion Center (BIPC), Bohol Association of Hotels, Resorts and Restaurants (BAHRR) with Coca-cola as a major sponsor.
The Fusion Nights showcases the strong participation of the private sector as the province celebrates the gratitude of the Boholanos, the spirit of unity and resilience in commemoration of the earthquake on its first year anniversary. (ecb/PIA7-Bohol)

Agrarian beneficiaries to get P2.32-B in support
The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released P2.32 billion to the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) to fund the implementation of the Aquino administration’s support services for the agrarian beneficiaries.
The P2.32 billion is the partial release allotted for the Program Beneficiaries Development (PBD), DAR’s support service delivery component. The fund will benefit the following groups: the agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs), who will get the bulk of the said amount with P2.31 billion; rural women, who will get P4.3 million; and landowners, who will also get P4.3 million.
The PBD’s goal is to support beneficiaries of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) in making their lands more productive, helping them create income-generating livelihood projects, and teaching them community governance.
Secretary of Budget Florencio “Butch” Abad said, “Filipino farmers who’ve been granted land under the agrarian reform program will gain much from this fund release to DAR. Through the PBD, the beneficiaries can make their farms more productive and bring their produce quickly to the market, among others.”
Aside from increasing crop yields and household income as well as helping the farmers organize themselves, the PBD will also help women in the agricultural work force become micro-entrepreneurs as part of DAR’s push for gender equality under the CARP.
“The DAR’s continuing support to agrarian beneficiaries is an important part of the agency‘s mandate to achieve agrarian reform. At the same time, we want to ensure that the government’s efforts to develop the rural areas will give our farmers a sustainable future,” Abad said.
Tasked with distributing land to landless farmers under CARP, DAR has managed to distribute a total of 6.9 million hectares of land or 751,514 hectares under this administration. Though the extension of the CARP has already lapsed last June 30, 2014, DAR is still continuing its mandated task of distributing acquired lands covered by CARP as well as supporting the beneficiaries. Apil sa gipasidunggan ni PNoy si Bosh, usa ka Labrador nga iro tungod sa nahimong tabang niini sa pagka-ugkat sa 4 ka patay’ng lawas sa Bohol.
Gipasalamatan sa Presidente ang PCG tungod sa pagpanalipod niini sa teritoryo sa Pilipinas ug pagbantay sa atong kabaybayonan ilabi na sa West Philippine Sea.
Giseguro ni PNoy sa iyang mensahe atol sa anibersaryo sa PCG ang padayon nga pagsuporta sa gobyerno alang sa modernisasyon sa Coast Guard.
Gipasalamatan usab ni PCG Commandant Vice Admiral Rodolfo Isorena si Presidente Aquino tungod sa makasaysayanong suporta niini sa ilang buhatan.
